Typically at the beginning of the year prior to the first fruits offering, my church worships through our annual fasting time. And as usual my husband and I participated along with many other members of our great congregation.
And if you have ever taken more than a day to fast and pray and consecrate yourself you begin to realize that you think of all sorts of foods to eat, even foods you don’t normally eat.
Often times, the mind wanders to unmentionables like chocolate, potato chips, cookies or pie. Now, I’m not a big pie eating person. I don’t like sweet potato, lemon meringue, keylime or pumpkin pie but I do dabble in a little apple or pecan. Actually I would rather have a cake but that’s not the point here.
My point is, when you have a warm , freshly baked, ready-to-eat pie sitting on the window sill and you finally get a slice of that pie when you take a piece out, you leave a hole in the pie that cannot be replaced.
But when our perfect Father took a piece of himself, created us in His image and in His likeness, there was nothing from Him that was missing, separated, broken, or incomplete.
We can rejoice in the fact that our Father is absolutely perfect. Why would we want to serve a God that is any less?
And just as our perfect Father spoke things into existence like the light and the ocean, we also can speak things into our life. What is it that you need to speak into your life today? What is it that needs to be pulled down from the spiritual, unseen world into our physical, natural world? Remember, just as with the creation of man, when we call things from the spiritual unseen realm, we are not leaving a hole. We are making ourselves whole. Nothing will missing from heaven, nothing will be broken or incomplete.
Please take some time this week to think about that thing or those things that you need in your life, for the life of your children, your family, your friends, in your career, in your finances or in your relationships to help your world be more complete.
You may be thinking, “Sure, God does it for others but He can’t or won’t do it for me”. Of course He will. How do you know if you aren’t right on the edge of your blessing? If you give up or stop the good thing you are doing you will never know. Kind of like the man whose son was just about to be healed by Jesus. He asked Jesus “If you can heal my son…?” and Jesus’ response was “IF I CAN?” (emphasis mine). Of course the man felt less than worthy after he clearly exposed his unbelief. And his words after this were, “Jesus, I believe, but help my unbelief.”
We all have areas of unbelief. Ask your father today to help you with the unbelief and speak God’s word into your atmosphere. Don’t just think about it actually speak it. That’s what God did with the light and the creation of man. And since we were created in His image and His likeness, that’s what we need to do too. He’s our pattern. The first time it may seem a little strange but when you begin to really see results you will know that your words have power beyond your imagination.
Don’t allow there to be any pieces of the pie missing in your life, Speak it now. Speak it loud. Speak it proud. Speak it with boldness. Don’t be afraid, you can do it.
Be well my friends. And may the words you speak bring wholeness into your life.
Be well and be free.
